Hare Krishna dear Devotees
The African BBT dedicates the 11th Annual conference as a fitting tribute to His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami Maharaj, a visionary personality whose disappearance has left us bereft. Maharaj was a Vaikuntha gentleman, a role model of pure devotional service and an ornament amongst the Vaishnavas. His devotional accomplishments will be recorded in the history books of ISKCON. Vaishnavas are struggling with such a devasting loss.
Once the anthology of devotional appreciations is compiled, Maharaj’s contributions will be celebrated. A few being: instantly recognized by Srila Prabhupada and receiving Sannyasa within three months of his Harinam Diksha, immortalizing Srila Prabhupada through cinema and building a beautiful temple in Ujjain. He worked tirelessly for the fortification and unity of ISKCON.
He printed his cherished memories of Srila Prabhupada with the North American BBT ‘Ocean of Mercy’. Maharaj took a keen interest in the African BBT.
Maharaj will forever remain a part of the African BBT and his instructions live on.
