Guru Maharaja Visits ISKCON Baroda January 2015

Since a long time, devotees of ISKCON Baroda were inviting Guru Maharaj to kindly visit ISKCON Baroda temple. Guru Maharaj mercifully agreed to visit ISKCON Baroda on the evening of 7th January 2015. Although his stay was relatively short(1.5 days), it inspired the devotees of Baroda and nearby places very much. It was a long time ago that temple campus was filled with so many devotees coming to attend Guru Maharaja’s lectures & kirtans. Guru Maharaj was greeted with jubilant kirtan at the railway station by a groups of devotees. While coming from the station to temple, one devotee requested Guru Maharaja to kindly sing bhajan and Guru Maharaj agreed to sing a bengali bhajan “Gora guna gao suni”. The evening lecture was on this beautiful bhajan and explanation. Guru Maharaj sang bhajan melodiously explaining the meaning stanza by stanza. On the request of some senior devotees who were from Bengal, Guru Maharaj summarized whole class in bengali. Class was followed by 15 minutes Q & A session.
Next day morning Srimad-Bhagavatam class was on the verse 4.25.49 (Characteristics of King Puranjana). During the question & answer session, one devotee requested Guru Maharaj to tell about Srila Prabhupada. In reply to that Guru Maharaj mentioned that telling about Srila Prabhupada was not possible in just 2-3 minutes and he announced  that he would be giving evening class on Srila Prabhupada katha.
Guru Maharaj was busy whole day meeting with devotees and well wishers of ISKCON Baroda. Especially he was staying most of the time with his very dear Godbrother and Temple president(ISKCON Baroda) His Grace Basughosh prabhu.

Because Guru Maharaj had announced about Srila Prabhupada katha in the evening, many devotees were waiting for the evening time and more than 200 devotees already arrived well before the class. They were waiting for the class to start. Guru Maharaj gave very heart touching class on “Srila Prabhupada in my life”. He started the narration from his coming back from Germany and going to Hrishikesh in search of Guru, Then subsequently his reading of Nectar of devotion, his meeting with Srila Prabhupada in the train coming from Prayag to Kolkata, his accompanying Srila Prabhuhpada in Mumbai, Hrishikesh and then Vrindavan. Devotees became so much absorbed that when Guru Maharaj stopped class, everyone was little distressed and were mentioning how time passed so quickly. Class was followed by kirtan and dancing.

Next day morning 4 am, Guru Maharaj left for Surat where another group of wonderful devotees  were waiting for his divine association.
Thank you very much. Hare Krishna.
