Breakfast Dialogue Between His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami & Arun In Arusha, Tanzania

His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami: Kṛṣṇa comes in Dvāpara Yuga, not in every Dvāpara Yuga. Kṛṣṇa is the original Supreme Personality of Godhead. You see Kṛṣṇa is not an avatāra, Kṛṣṇa is an avatari. He is the source, original source of all avatāras, like, “ete cāśa-kalā pusa Kṛṣṇas tu bhagavān svayam” other avatāras are His aśas and kalahs but Kṛṣṇa is the original Supreme Personality of Godhead. So that original Supreme Personality of Godhead comes once in a day of Brahmā and you know what is the duration of Brahmā’s day? “Sahasra-yuga-paryantam” One day of Brahmā consists of one thousand yugas, catur-yugas.

Devotee: four.

His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami: So, catur-yugas are Satya, Dvāpara, Tretā and Kali-yuga. These four together consist of one catur-yuga and one thousand such catur-yugas is a day of Brahmā. In a day of Brahmā there are fourteen Manus. Manus are like you can say, the Foremen of a shift. Like in a factory you have a shift and each shift has a foreman, yes right? Similarly the universal arrangement is also consisting of various personalities like Indra, Chandra, Varuṇa, Sarasvatī. Like they are devas and devis.  You know they are like devas and devīs. So they are the controllers of different affairs of material arrangements. Just like you have water department, electricity department, fire department, education department, there are various ‘public works’ departments. They have the departmental heads. These devas and devīs are different heads of different departments.

So, this one set of this devas and devīs remain in one Manvantara and this one Manvantara is controlled by one Manu. So, there are fourteen Manus and In a day of Brahmā there are fourteen Manus, they come and perform their duty and then they go and another set comes. So one thousand divided by fourteen comes about 71. So one Manu’s reign consists of 71 Catur-yugas. And Of them the 7th Manu is Vaivasvata Manu. Sun God is Vivasvana and his son is Vaivasvata Manu. So, now we are in Vaivasvata Manu’s reign and during Vaivasvata Manu’s reign, in the 28th Catur Yuga in the Dvaparayuga at the end Kṛṣṇa the original Supreme Personality of Godhead comes and then He reveals His Vraja līlā Vṛndāvana līlā. You see Vṛndāvana is the topmost region of the spiritual sky, where the original Supreme Personality of Godhead resides “ārādhyo bhagavān vrajeśa-tanayas” That original Supreme Personality of Godhead is the son of Nanda Mahārāja, “tad dhāma Vndāvanam” the way to His, so His abode is Vṛndāvana and “brahmā kācid upāsanā braja vadhū vargea va kalpita” the way the Gopīs of Vṛndāvana worshiped Kṛṣṇa. So, anyway, so when Kṛṣṇa comes and reveals His Vraja līlā, in the following Kaliyuga, after Dvāpara yuga comes Kaliyuga, in Kaliyuga Kṛṣṇa comes as His devotee to indicate who is Kṛṣṇa.

Devotee: Vow.

So that is Kṛṣṇa Caitanya. Kṛṣṇa Balarāma of Vṛndāvana comes as Caitanya Mahāprabhu and Nityānanda Prabhu. Kṛṣṇa came as Caitanya Mahāprabhu and Balarāma came as Nityānanda Prabhu. Actually, our scriptures are so important. There is no room for speculation. It is all very clear. So anyway it’s getting into a big discussion

Devotee: It is so fortunate that in 1000 cycles, in the 7th Manu in the 28th cycle in that Kaliyuga we came. Oh my God!

His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami: It’s true. We are fortunate to be here at the time Kṛṣṇa performed His pastime in Dvāpara yuga and Kaliyuga began and we are here so that we can access. So please

Devotee: So much depth to this

His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami: understanding, like say, for example, in physics, the deeper you go clearer becomes the subject. Even music you know the sound consists of, I mean our Vedic understanding is so profound. Just consider a simple common sense consideration- sound. Now the sound has been divided into two kinds of sounds: meaningful and meaningless [Laughter]. Like this is sound [Mahārāja strikes the table with his finger and a sound was produced] but it has no meaning. But when I say Arun, it’s meaningful, light, picture, wall- sound, but this sound is becoming meaningful. And then out of the meaningful sounds, there are sounds that indicate objects of this nature and there are sounds that indicate the objects of spiritual nature. The sound that indicates the objects of spiritual nature are known as mantras and what does that mantra do? Mantras take us from this world to that world. That is why mantra is to be meditated upon. So, now tell me where in the world you get this kind of scientific understanding of a simple thing of sound.

Devotee: Yes

His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami: Get into anything then you will see the Vedic understanding you see physics light [unclear] but the Vedic understanding of this topic as I mentioned about sound, light, what is the the origin of all light? The origin of all light is Sun. You think of light of anything, light of Sun, light of moon, light of electricity, light of fire. Where is the origin of all? Where is the light coming from the sun going? The wood is burning, why does it burn?  Because the cellulose of wood collected energy of the fire through the leaves through the process of what is it called? Through the chlorophyll…

Devotee: Photosynthesis

His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami: Through the photosynthesis they store the energy in the wood and under certain condition that energy comes out. Now tell me what is the source of that energy?

Devotees: Sun.

His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami: Sun, right! So, in this way we can see our Vedic understanding. The sun is the origin of all light and you know where sun is getting all light from? From Brahmajyoti. Just like moon is reflecting the light of Sun, the Sun is actually reflecting the Brahmajyoti and the spiritual world is full of light and that light is called Brahmajyoti. Just as you were yesterday you were chanting the mantras “Brahmārpaṇaṁ Brahmā Havir Brahmāgnau Brahmanaahutam Brahmaiva Tena Ghantavyam” So this Brahmā is actually the spiritual energy of the Lord. So, so scientific. Approach to Vedic wisdom from any angle gives such a perfect understanding!

Devotee: [Unclear]

His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami: Thank you [Unclear].
