I also have fond memories of Sri Amichand Rajbansi. He was indeed a great friend and supporter of the devotees, from the very beginning. May Srila Prabhupada and Sri Sri Radha-Radhanath bless him.

Hare Krishna.

Yours in service to Srila Prabhupada,
Giriraj Swami

The Bengal Tiger is Dead, Mr Amichand Rajbansi Leader of the Minority Front and Member of Parliament in the KZN Legislature has passed on today just after midday.

A great supporter of the Hare Krishna Movement,  donor, friend and well wisher, he fought the Apartheid Government to keep the foreign Hare Krishna devotees in the country.

It was through his regular intervention that the devotees in the early days were allowed to stay in the country to preach, build the most magnificent Sri Sri Radha Radhanath Temple of Understanding and revive the Vedic Culture.

He love the association of the devotees, including, Srila Bhakti Charu Swami Maharaj, HH Partha Sarathi Das Goswami Maharaj’s  Tent Campaign and the late, former Temple President of Sri Sri Radha Radhanath, His Grace Surti Kirti Prabhu.

He requested HH Bhakti Charu Swami at a darshan at the Durban International airport to revive the Tent Campaign which brought in many devotees. It was his birthday to see Maharaj off.

He also, forced the Mayor to pubically announce at the official opening function of the Temple to sell the land to ISKCON for R2.00.

May our Lordships, Sri Sri Radha Radhanath and Srila Prabhupada bless him in his journey, from here after.

Hare Krishna

Thank you very much

With love

Amichand Rajbansi

On the back of his Lifetime Achievement Award from the IIFS in Delhi a weekago, Rajbansi was presented with a replica of the Shanti Stupa, Vaishali (which features prominently both in Jain and Buddhist literature) by Modi for his efforts to strengthen existing initiatives and launch new ones in this partnership between India and its Diaspora.

The MEC for Sport and Recreation, Mr. Amichand Rajbansi visited the Bethsaida Ministries Fete in Phoenix in December 2008. The people were surprised when he agreed to carry a live 30 kilogram python. The reptile had its teeth but the owner said 12000 people have handled it but it has never harmed anyone of them.
