Preaching is the Essence
Engaging technology in the service of Srila Prabhupada, “Our Goswamis, they have prescribed yukta-vairagya: accept everything in relation to Krishna. Then that is yukta vairagya”, said Srila Prabhupada, Nectar of Devotion.
His Holiness Ramgovinda Swami received a Devotional gift of a Net book from Dr Krishna Prasad Rambarran to help take preaching to greater heights in this new age of information technology distributing the mercy through the ISKCON Network Information Highway.
Initially, Maharaja said, I cannot accept this. Maharaja was completely surprised and taken a back by this simple but loving gesture. This is part of our Transcendental Social Responsibility to offer and receive gifts in the Family of Srila Prabhupada.
These loving exchanges increase our gratitude and love for each other for Srila Prabhupada Family members and Sri Radha Krishna.
His Holiness flew off to Botswana early in the early hours of this morning en route to India on 26th December 2011 with intense preaching programs back to South Africa in time for Ratha Yatra in April 2012.
Maharaja mentioned his travels take him leaving a winter zone and directly
entering another winter zone. I told Maharaj Srila Prabhupada travels were the opposite, escaping winter for summer in discussion with the parents of His Holiness Giriraj Swami, who is presently preaching in India. Look out for his future posting on Devotee Care delivered in Vrindavana.
Books are the Basis
This morning Pensioner, Tony Shanahan received Srila Prabhupada’s Mercy the
most precious Book above all other novels and books, The Matchless Gift, a
small book from Ramkinkar das. He retired in 1996, the same year ISKCON
celebrated Srila Prabhupada’s Centennial Year.
Tony is an avid reader and member of the Pietermaritzburg Municipal Library,
It took him 15 years in retirement, today to receive, touch and read Srila
Prabhupada’s Book. At 80 he plans to visit places.
Before offering him the Gift, I asked him do you read, with a genuine response, he said, oh yes. Then I decided to give it to him for free. He was delighted and over the moon to receive a spiritual book as a gift.
Dear devotees and friends please carry and distribute a few small books on your daily trips to increase Srila Prabhupada’s Pleasure.
Thank you very much
Your ever well wisher in the service of Srila Prabhupada.
