Vyasa-Puja And The Path Of Love

Vyasa-Puja And The Path Of Love

His Grace Prabha Visnu Prabhu

Dear Spiritual family

Please accept my humble obeisance.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
All glories to Guru Maharaja.

The eagerly awaited day of Sri Gurudeva’s Vyasapuja has dawned, bringing to a crescendo our desires to honour our beloved spiritual master on this most auspicious occasion.

True to his nature, Guru Maharaja attributes his success, as a world renowned spiritual ambassador and leader, to the mercy of Srila Prabhupada, and makes every endeavour to ensure that we, his disciples, are cognisant of this at all times. Dedicating his Vyasapuja celebrations to the glory of Srila Prabhupada is the main thrust of our united celebrations on this most wonderful occurrence.

In keeping with Gurudeva’s desire, I have very humbly prepared “The Path of Love,” a 250 page dedication to HDG Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, whose works I have drawn upon to explore the ramification of Love, and the most expedient spiritual means at our disposal to ensure we awaken and nurture our true love for Sri Krishna.

Guru Maharaja, magnanimous soul that he is, has most kindly written the FOREWORD to “The Path of Love” and this I enclose for your pleasure. If you would like a copy of “The Path of Love” at approximately 6 Euros plus postage, then do contact me at visnudas@telkomsa.net.

Always desiring to be of service to our rapidly growing spiritual community,

I remain,
Your servant, as always

FOREWORD

Since time immemorial countless books have been written on “love” glorifying its influence and effects on human emotion. Then, what was the need of another book on the same topic? Is it just another addition to that countless array of literatures or does it have something else to offer?  To understand that we have to first recognize what love actually is.  Ironically, although it is the most used word in any language, hardly anyone knows what it actually means.

Love is an energy, intrinsic to the soul that causes the soul to become connected to another. It is love that brings us together and hatred that separates us. The soul being a part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, God,
needs to be connected to Him, and love is the spiritual energy inherent to the soul that does that. Therefore, the real purpose of love is to become connected to God and its natural outcome is joy. However, when one becomes separated from Him then one cannot make out where to offer that love and no matter wherever one offers it one never becomes satisfied. Because it is being offered to the wrong place!

Only when love is offered to the Lord does it finds its real purpose and obvious outcome. Actual love blossoms when one surrenders himself to the Supreme Lover, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. However, when it is offered to anyone other than Him then it is transformed into lust – a  tendency to exploit for the sake of gratifying one’s senses.

This book, very systematically and scientifically explains the nature of true love. In order to love someone we have to first know him. Similarly, in order to love the Lord we have to first get to know Him.  Then we get to know how much He loves us, and until and unless we reciprocate His love, this love affair remains incomplete. The Lord is like a lovelorn young lover who is waiting for the response from His beloved. And we are His beloved.  All He wants is that we reciprocate His love. He filled our heart with love and all He wants is that we offer that love to him. When we do that then our heart becomes filled with joy – the joy that we are always hankering for.

Yours in the service of Srila Prabhupada,

Bhakti Charu Swami
