16 Sep ISKCON Ujjain update 16th September, 2010
His Grace Mukunda Prabhu
In this material world everything that begins must end. We had that practical example yesterday.
At mangal arati Guru Maharaj offered arati to Sri Sri Radha MadanMohan in the presence of devotees from all over the world.
The morning class was simply the glorification of Srimati Radharani and to describe her beauty Guru Maharaj sang the song “Kunkumakta kancanabja garba hari gaurabha “. During the course of the day he repeated the song three times first in the morning class second just before tulsi arati and also after sandhya arati. It was his utmost desire to install in us the mood to serve the lotus feet of Srimati Radharani and thus attain Krishna prem. What even enhanced the atmosphere in the temple was when he sang the ever enthralling song right in the beginning of the morning class and again at the time of sayan arati “ Radharani Ki Jai, Maharani ki jai, bolo barasane wali ki jai jai jai “. Everyone was mesmerized by his singing and the vibration is still now ringing in our ears.
From 10am the avishek of Srimati Radharani was performed by Guru Maharaj and some seniors and was watched by a large gathering of captivated devotees.
There was a ceremony termed anaprasan or the giving of the first morsel of rice to the infant. Guru Maharaj fed the little Nityananda Prabhu his first helping of sweet rice. In the evening Guru Maharaj personally observed the birthday of four year old Varshabhanavi Matagi from South Africa who had convinced her parents to observe her birthday in the presence of Guru Maharaj at Ujjain. The other fortunate one was Richa Matagi.
Devotees were spellbound when they saw the deities in their very stunning and luxurious outfit the morning one a combination of blue and maroon while the night dress a red which I have no words to describe but you all must see for yourselves.
Please find a few of the moments of this memorable day which ultimately came to an end captured in photos posted on the following links (with several live video shots)
