Maharaja in Leicester

Bhakta Preyesh – ISKCON Leicester UK

On Saturday 15th May 2010, ISKCON Leicester (UK) was privileged and honored to receive a visit from His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami.

Bhakti Charu Maharaja is so merciful to us here at ISKCON Leicester. Whenever he visits the UK, he always makes it a point to visit ISKCON Leicester as part of his very heavy and demanding schedule. As soon as we hear confirmation, ALL devotees at the Temple eagerly await his arrival.

This time, his visit fell on a Saturday. He arrived at the Temple, and was greeted by the devotees who blew conches, offered obeicences unto him, and showered flower petals from above creating such a wonderful atmosphere and a befitting welcome.
After taking darshan of our presiding deities , Sri Sri Pancha Tattva and Srila Prabhupada, Bhakti Charu Maharaja sat down after being honored by our Temple president and spoke so beautifully as he always does.

In his class he spoke about the constitutional nature of the soul and spoke about the topic of ‘love’ and how love is meant only and only for Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The class was wonderful and everyone relished Bhakti Charu Maharajas words which were like nectar to the ears and soul.

Bhakti Charu Maharaja then lead a sweet and melodious kirtan, and as the kirtan went on and intensified, Bhakti Charu Maharaja got up from the Vyasasana and began to chant and dance in ecstasy to the absolute delight to the packed Temple room!

It was so nice to see Bhakti Charu Maharaja in such a joyful, blissful mood. He danced gracefully and the devotees ecstasy knew no bound! After the class and kirtans, he met a few devotees, and departed for London.

ISKCON Leicester is always honored to receive Bhakti Charu Maharaja who makes such an active effort to visit us. Whether they are disciples of Bhakti Charu Maharaja or not, whether they are brand new guests, or it’s the first time they are meeting or hearing from a spiritual master, Bhakti Charu Maharaja always leaves a long lasting, eternal impression on all at ISKCON Leicester.
